Cari amici che avete il buon cuore di venirci a trovare sul nostro Blog , rinnovo gli Auguri piu' sentiti a tutti voi.Avendo inserito come video natalizio il famoso video della"LIVE AID",che lo registrò a scopo umanitario,non potevo non andare a parare che su "WE ARE THE WORD",che effettivamente conologicamente parlando,avviene prima .Ad avere l'idea,fu Bob Geldorf ed a scrivere il brano furono Lionel Richie e Michael Jakson.Al progetto parteciparono 45 musicisti compreso lo stesso Bob Geldof e 21 cantanti che si alternarono alla voce solista e cioè:

Inciso a scopo benefico da Usa for Africa, un supergruppo di celebrità della musica pop, i proventi raccolti furono devoluti alla popolazione dell'Etiopia afflitta da una terrificante carestia. Ideatore del progetto fu Bob Geldof che ideò anche il progetto Live Aid dello stesso anno. A mio avviso Usa for Africa è il segno più lampante e indelebile della grande potenza della musica anni 80; anche il Live Aid fu chiuso in bellezza dagli Usa for Africa con il brano We are the world. Il brano fu inciso il 28 gennaio 1985 a Hollywood e fu pubblicato il 7 marzo in 800.000 copie che furono subito esaurite. Il brano vinse il Grammy Award come canzone dell'anno, disco dell'anno e come miglior performance di un duo o gruppo vocale pop. Furono vendute in tutto 7,5 milioni di copie solo negli Stati Uniti e il progetto riuscì a raccogliere 50 milioni di dollari.
